Hamms Participate in InterActive Gymnastics Camp
The past, present and future of men’s gymnastics could be seen last week during InterActive Academy’s sixth annual boys summer gymnastics camp. The camp closed Friday with a demonstration of elite gymnastics highlighted by Paul Hamm, the all-around champion at the 2003 World Championships and 2004 Olympic Games, and his twin brother Morgan, a fellow Olympian.
It was the fourth appearance at the camp for the Hamm brothers, who are making a comeback in the sport after taking time off from competitive gymnastics to focus on their college studies. Their presence made an impression on the campers, according to Jeff Greene, InterActive’s summer camp director and boys team head coach.
“I think it makes it real for them in that it’s one thing to see them on the TV and it’s another thing to see them in person in your gym on your equipment,” he said.
