Angela and Bill Ruggiero Featured in TulsaWorld.com
More than two years after Olympic hockey star Angela Ruggiero made history with the Tulsa Oilers, she and her brother Bill still have worlds to conquer.
Angela hopes to win another gold medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Bill wants to pursue his playing career, then continue his clinic work with children. But above all, family comes first and the Ruggieros are as close as siblings can be.
“Since I was 14, I would come home and skate with Bill and his buddies,” said Angela, 27, who became the first female to skate in a men’s professional game when she suited up with the Oilers for a game on Jan. 20, 2005. “When we were young I would look after him and we were best friends. Bill has had a tremendous amount of influence on my success in hockey.”
