Wilson Starts Comeback Journey

Eddie Pells of the Associated Press featured Blaine Wilson today in a feature story detailing Wilson’s quest to qualify for a fourth Olympic Games. Pells writes:

The next time Blaine Wilson steps into a gymnastics meet, it won’t be for fun, or simply to prove that a 33-year-old, three-time Olympian can still show the kids a thing or two.

“I’ll be doing it to win,” he said. “People who say, ‘Oh, I just want to go see what I can do.’ No. You want to win. If you don’t, I don’t know if I want you on my team.”

That’s Wilson — brash, bold, not afraid to challenge people, challenge himself, set the bar high in a sport where mistakes and weaknesses are not easily masked.
