Gretchen Bleiler Featured in Nike Ad Campaign

Gretchen Bleiler is one of a select group of female athletes featured in Nike’s new ad campaign which puts women at its forefront.

The campaign will make its debut Saturday, with 18 women step up to a 15-foot-long megaphone with a 3-foot-wide mouthpiece to deliver a unified message: We’re athletes, so ditch the female modifier.

In the commercial Bleiler boldly states, “The halfpipe doesn’t care that I’m a girl.”

The campaign is rolling out at the start of the W.N.B.A. playoffs and the United States Open, and in advance of the kickoff of the Women’s World Cup in China on Sept. 10.
