Joyce and Vandenberg Head to Toyota Grand Prix

A deep field of top American swimmers, including Kara Lynn Joyce and Kim Vandenberg, are set to kick off the first of eight stops on the Toyota Grand Prix series Nov. 9-11 in Minnesota.

Adding to the excitement of this year’s series will be a new scoring system that will recognize the top medal-winner at the series’ conclusion, June 8 in Omaha, Neb. Swimmers will earn points for each medal earned at a Grand Prix meet.

Gold medals will command five points, silver three and bronze one. The standings will integrate male and female participants, and will recognize the swimmer with the highest cumulative point total. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the swimmer who earned the highest single-race FINA power point ranking.
