Sarah Schleper Eyes Return
After sitting out last season with an injury and taking most of this year off to give birth to her first child, Vail’s Sarah Schleper is rearing to get back in the gates for one final push — the 2010 Games.
“That’s my goal — I want to go two more years and finish out my career,” Schleper said.
Earlier this month, Schleper brought a son, Lasse, into the world, and had minor surgery on her knee Tuesday.
“I’m going to start dryland training, and I’ll go to my first camp in May,” said Schleper, who has competed in the three previous winter Olympics. “I’m hoping I can get really strong in the next couple of weeks so when I get back on the snow I’ll feel fit. I was walking 4K a day when I was pregnant and riding a stationary bike.”
