Smokin’ hot Third annual CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational will heat up Snowmass
Confirmed riders for this season’s event include: Gretchen Bleiler, Kelly Clark, Elena Hight, Sarah Conrad, Ellery Hollingsworth, Mercedes Nicoll, Linn Haug, Maddy Schaffrick, Haruna Matsumoto, Soko Yamaoka, Sophie Rodriguez and Ursina Holler.
The event will feature a Superpipe contest on Saturday, April 3 in Snowmass, photo and filming opportunities for the media as well as lifestyle activities for the riders such as a spa day, yoga classes and a girl’s night out on the town.
Invites were based on a combination of Olympic and X Games qualifications. This year’s event will include a more international field and the event will mark the first time since the Winter Olympics in Vancouver that all of these women will come together in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Snowmass now features a world-renowned 22 foot Superpipe that was built by the award-winning Aspen/Snowmass terrain park crew along with experts from Snow Park Technologies.
“I’m really looking forward to the third annual CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational, especially after the craziness of the Olympics,” said two-time Olympian and 2010 Winter X Games gold medalist Gretchen Bleiler, “this will be a great opportunity to focus on progressive riding and quality time with all of the girls.”
For the first time Viceroy Snowmass will host the athletes along with a mix of activities throughout the weekend. Viceroy Snowmass Resort and Residence, bringing the brand’s signature fusion of glamorous style, provocative design and innovative culinary experiences to the event will add to the truly special experience of CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational.
The CoverGirl Snow Angels Invitational is the bookend event for a season of over 30 Aspen/Snowmass sponsored events. This is the only women’s specific snowboard competition and lifestyle weekend of the sort in the industry, bringing together the media, fans, sponsors and the athletes alike to Aspen/Snowmass.
