Renowned sport dietician Bob Seebohar and Olympian Sarah Haskins will kick off an exciting stretch of USA Triathlon webinars on July 12 with their presentation on race-day nutrition. Seebohar will break the talk down into four parts: fluids and electrolytes, fuel, ergogenic aids and real-life application. Specific information on assessing hydration status and fluid balance as well as pre, during and post race fluid recommendations, electrolytes and hyponatremia and muscle cramping will be presented. The latest on carbohydrate, protein and fat for competition nutrition as well as specific ergogenic aids for triathletes including sodium bicarbonate and caffeine will also be discussed. Seebohar will detail real-life application looking at pre, during and post training nutrition needs highlighting fluid, carbohydrate, protein, fat and sodium recommendations.
Haskins will share her thoughts on each topic, giving the viewer insight into the race-day nutrition plan for one of the world’s top triathletes.

|Sarah Haskins is professional triathlete who represented the United States at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has also earned the titles of 2006 National Champion and 2008 Lifetime Fitness Champion. After a great season including a 2nd place finish at the 2008 World Championships, Sarah returned from the 2008 Beijing Olympics as one of three women competing for the United States. She had a solid performance with an 11th place finish, but has already started planning for her next Olympic Games and will be looking for a spot on the podium. Sarah competed in her first triathlon in St. Louis, MO in June of 2003 upon college graduation and became a professional triathlete less than a year later in May, 2004. While in college, Sarah competed in cross-country and track at the University of Tulsa, where she graduated with honors. She has a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Mathematics. Sarah grew up in St. Louis, MO and began swimming at a very young age. She swam on the Parkway Swim Club for nine years and ran cross country and track in high school. Sarah was a Missouri high school state champion in cross country and swimming, while attending Parkway South High School.|
|Bob Seebohar, formerly a Sport Dietitian for the U.S. Olympic Committee and the 2008 Olympic Triathlon Sport Dietitian is a USA Triathlon Certified Level III Elite Coach and owner of Fuel4mance, which provides sports nutrition services to endurance athletes. Bob has an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science and two graduate degrees: one in Health and Exercise Science and the other in Food Science and Human Nutrition. He is a trained exercise physiologist as well as a certified strength and conditioning coach. He currently serves as the consulting sport dietitian and head strength coach for the USA Triathlon National Team as well as co-owner of Elite Multisport Coaching which provides professional coaching services to elite, age-group and youth athletes. Bob served on the performance coaching team for Susan Williams, 2004 Olympic Triathlon Bronze medalist, was the personal coach for Sarah Haskins Kortuem, 2008 Olympic Triathlete and is the current coach for Jasmine Oeinck, 2009 Elite National Champion. Practicing what he preaches, he is a competitive endurance athlete having completed numerous multisport races including six Ironman events, the Boston Marathon, the Leadville 100-mile mountain bike race, the Leadville 100-mile trail run and the entire Leadman ultraendurance race series.|
