Oakley Signs Maddy Schaffrick
Meet one of the newest additions to Oakley’s Global Women’s Team: Olympic-hopeful snowboarder Maddy Schaffrick. Maddy will rely on Oakley’s ability to bridge the gap between form and function enabling her to fulfill her potential on and off of the mountain while simultaneously expressing her own distinctive style.
“Oakley athletes have woven a powerful legacy across a myriad of sports since the brand’s inception in 1975,” said Patrick McIlvain, Oakley VP Global Sports Marketing. “Maddy possesses an uncontainable drive to be on the forefront of sport and style. This makes her exceptional an ambassador for Oakley who will lead the next generation of active women into new territory where performing beautifully is a natural part of everyday life.”
“I’m so excited to be working with Oakley,” said Maddy. “I believe in the products and enjoy that they’re the best combination of technology and style. I am proud to be part of the team!”
Oakley has long been recognized for the superior optical quality of their eyewear. Maddy will benefit from wearing Oakley goggles with High Definition Optics® (HDO®) offering stunning clarity while maximizing peripheral and downward view when she snowboards. Off the hill, the Women’s Active Collection combines technological advancements including HD Polarized® lenses for optimum clarity and Unobtanium® nosepads to prevent slipping, with stylized frames for a line of eyewear that enables athletic women like Maddy to be powerfully protected and beautifully decorated at the same time.
Allowing Maddy to continue to add progressive new maneuvers to her already impressive arsenal of tricks, Oakley has redesigned and reinvented their approach to winter outerwear. Now utilizing new materials and a system of modular parts that quickly adapt to changing environments, the brand is able to deliver optimal comfort and performance in all conditions.
When she is not on snowboarding, Maddy can be found pounding the pavement or logging miles on her bike. Regardless of the activity she chooses, Oakley’s innovative active apparel elevates performance levels allowing her to do the same. The brand’s advanced O-Form technology maximizes fit, comfort and performance with 4-way stretch that conforms to the body while Oakley’s best in class moisture management system, O Hydrolix, removes excess moisture to keep her cool and dry during her most intense workouts.
As Oakley continues to perfect the balance of performance and style, athletes like Maddy are poised to play an integral role in shaping the future of Oakley’s Women’s eyewear and apparel for before, during and after sport.
