Steph Davis Partners With PETA
The extreme athlete shares the reasons behind her decision to be vegan
To power her extreme endeavors, climber and base-jumper Steph Davis had to find the best foods for fuel. In the process, she discovered veganism.
“I started eating vegan because I noticed that it made me feel better and perform better,” she wrote in a blog post. “I’ve been vegan for 10 years now, and there’s nothing in my life that hasn’t become better as a result, from climbing and athletics to mental and spiritual well-being.”
As time went on, Davis discovered the environmental benefits of a vegan diet and became an advocate for animal rights through support for PETA, the Human Society and the Animal Legal Defense Fund.
Most recently, Davis partnered with PETA to design a limited-edition chalk bag. All proceeds from sales will go to benefit the organization. To purchase or win a chalk bag, visit the PETA website.
In her blog post, Davis also talks about the reasons why she believes a thoughtful diet can be a significant step toward positive change.
“I think we can all agree that hurting defenseless creatures is not ideal. What can we do to start making changes in a positive way?…nothing is more simple yet also more far-reaching than changing how and what you choose to eat.”
