Spring Clean Your Home with These Natural Swaps

by |

Two words we dread this time of year: spring cleaning. Not only does it remind us that our place is in need of a major cleaning, but we hate having to find (or buy) cleaning products. Lucky for us, Pure Bar founder Veronica Bosgraaf has the perfect tips to detoxify your home. Try these all natural alternatives that will make spring cleaning easy and pure.

1. Replace harsh, chemical laden scrubs with baking soda + peppermint oil.Just mix at the ratio of 1 tablespoon baking soda to 1/4 teaspoon peppermint essential oil and 1/2 teaspoon water to make an effective and deodorizing scrub for sinks, tubs, and even toilets.

2. Replace glass and surface cleaners with simple vinegar and water. The antimicrobial properties of vinegar will disinfect without streaks. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water.

3. Use hot water alone to clean floors. The heat will disinfect and clean without chemicals and residue left behind by commercial cleaners.

4. Use a clean rag with drops of lavender oil to replace synthetic and toxic dryer sheets in the dryer.
