Happy June!

This is my birthday month, so naturally, I’m thinking about age and what it means.

As I turn 45 (really?!), I’m happy with my life. There are so many things to be grateful for and others I still hope for. Life has its challenges and ups and downs but with age, I’m better equipped to handle it all, even embrace it all. The best news is, I’m increasingly convinced that the cliché is true – that age is simply a state of mind.

We work with some of the top health and wellness visionaries in the world. Living in Southern California we’re incredibly fortunate, surrounded by organic everything and with access to the most progressive health, fitness and wellness people and practices. S&Co evolved to focus in the healthy active living space because all of this and, because I love it so, so much. I am endlessly inspired by the people, purpose and our collective ability to help people feel better and live healthier lives. How does this relate to age? So many of these health practices literally feel like they’re helping us turn back time. Maybe I’m in denial about my age but for the most part, I feel better than I ever have, physically, mentally, emotionally. Thanks to meditation (our newest client, Emily Fletcher), the microcurrent facials (thanks, Molly/Sage Lane Skincare), functional mushrooms (thanks, Four Sigmatic) and now a new bone density biohack, OsteoStrong, I’m obsessed (in a good way) with ways to naturally progress my health. I’m taking dance classes for the first time since childhood and performed in a recital wearing a leotard (first leotard since age 5) – maximum fun! My friend Shel pioneered a concept called Slow Beauty (the opposite of the war on aging…all about aging gracefully). With that mindset and the various tools around us, it truly seems possible.

And if I’m committed to one thing these days, it’s grace. Living and being, and now aging, as gracefully as possible.

My birthday wish is for us all to work together to help as many people benefit from healthy foods, products and information that we’re fortunate enough to be surrounded by. How do we help more people have more education, more access and more of a connection with all of it? One of my goals over the next year professionally is to bring people together to figure that out – please let me know if you’d like to join in!

Wishing you a fantastic month!

xx

Amy
