Behind the Scenes with S&Co
In the honor of Mental Health Awareness Month and National Meditation Month this May, the S&Co team shares their go-to mindfulness practices to get grounded and stay present.
Denege Prudhomme: After taking Emily Fletcher’s Ziva Meditation course, I have picked up mediation, and it has changed my life. I meditate once or twice a day for 20 minutes. I also use prayer as a form of mindfulness and meditation. I say my daily prayers every morning and night and use my time in church on Sundays for reflection and manifestation.
Olivia Levis: I try to get myself out in nature as much as possible, especially to the beach. There’s nothing better than unplugging and listening to the waves.
Alex Terry: To get grounded and optimize my mindfulness, there are a few go-to remedies that help me to reach my full potential. For example, I enjoy spending time with family, walking outside once a day, and listening to a meditation app or two before I go to sleep.
Lindsay Lopez: Hiking has become the most powerful mindfulness practice for me. Focusing my energy on my pace and paying attention to what’s immediately in front of me on the trail forces me to zero in. Â I’m also very sensitive to smell, so consciously taking in all of the scents calms me.
Lauren Nelson: I’ve been following Marie Kondo’s Konmari Method to keep organized and remove anything from my surroundings that doesn’t spark joy.
Kara Froula: Being barefoot in the grass or in the sand is one of the ways I hit the reset button. Feeling my feet on the earth helps me ground and connect with nature and always seems to help put things in perspective.
