Happy August!

Summer continues to fly by. It’s not too late to make the most of it, especially in SoCal where we’re blessed with endless summer.

As much as it’s nice to be outdoors and making the most of these long, warm days, I just found out that I need to have MOHs surgery for the SECOND TIME because of basal cells found on my forehead. (this is literally the same spot on my forehead but on there opposite side) So, I’m not spending as much time at the beach as I’d like and I continue to be committed to sunscreen all the time. Turns out I’m paying the price for sunburns when I was in my teens and 20s so the good behavior now won’t pay off for another 20-30 years but if it prevents me from having to go through this again in the future, I’m 100 percent in. The truth is, the surgery isn’t horrible (as the nurse casually said, “nothing to lose sleep over” – not sure I agree with that!) but it is horrible that I can’t workout (or dance!) for at least two weeks after the surgery.

A few things: 1) wear sunscreen, 2) go get your skin checked – even the slightest irregularities can be worth checking and better safe than sorry, 3) according to my sister Molly, skin looks healthier and even more beautiful without a tan (I’m still not convinced of this but OK).

Also, the good news is, with less time at the beach, I’ve had more time to catch up on must-watch TV. If you haven’t seen it yet, Fleabag is one of the best shows ever. Only two seasons, six episodes at approx. 26-minutes each so very watchable. The last episode of season two is one of the best TV episodes of all time, truly. Once that was done, I felt something was missing and started watching Catastrophe. Also a British show, four seasons, more to watch and lots of hilarious moments. Who knows what will be next but I’m open to suggestions.

Wishing you a wonderful month! And wear your sunscreen!

xx
