Hurley Unveils Its Summer Collection

Hurley’s new men’s product elevates the land-sea crossover category with active hybrids that are comfortable in a wide range of conditions and activities and that increase performance and capability in and out of the water while eliminating redundancy.

The Hurley Phantom Hyperweave Motion incorporates Hurley’s revolutionary Hyperweave Waistband-a single-layer panel of four-way-stretch fabric engineered with tunnels that house rigid mag wires to stabilize the waistband on the body. It stretches, reacts and moves with the athlete, but when pulled horizontally it locks out, anchoring the shorts to the waist. This technology also reduces bulk by 50 percent and weight by 30 percent than the traditional boardshort. New knit action side panels provide extra stretch and flexibility where it’s needed, while woven panels maximize durability in areas of heavy use and abrasion. The shorter 18-inch inseam length lands just above your knee, staying out of the way while you surf.

The Hurley Alpha Trainer’s modern design exemplifies the intersection of form and function. By reimagining and minimizing the waistband and drawcord, Hurley’s Alpha Trainer cuts out bulk (for example, there’s no elastic, which absorbs water like a sponge). Lightweight, quick-drying, breathable rip stop fabric boosts performance, durability and comfort in and out of the water. Stretch fabric and an 18.5-inch inseam allow full range of motion. The sewn waistband has a tunneled drawchord. Multiple zippered water-friendly mesh pockets keep small items secure.

The Hurley Phantom Windskin is an ultra-thin half-millimeter smoothskin neoprene. This second-skin-like material is 100-percent wind and UV proof. The exterior has zero water absorption to minimize wind chill. The high-stretch windskin material wraps the shoulders to maximize range of motion, and the three needle flatlock seams are placed in compression areas where stretch is not needed. A high-density print on the forearm functions to “grab” water, which increases paddle power.

Hurley’s Fleece collection bookends their activewear by providing solutions for protection, warmth and comfort for before and after water-based activities. The new collection raises the bar from simple commodity and fashion with strategic, high-performance shields from the elements. Three different pieces in the collection offer specific levels of protection and warmth. All are lightweight, warm and comfortable. The Hurley Therma Protect Zip features Nike’s Therma-FIT technology throughout the garment, which increases insulation and has a durable water-repellant finish for protection from the elements. The Therma Protect Plus offers enhanced protection and more warmth without adding weight. A two-layer, bonded jersey outer shell with DWR coating keeps out moisture while Nike’s Therma-FIT technology inside layer insulates for added warmth. For complete protection, the Hurley Therma Protect Max has a three-layer, bonded rip stop outer shell with DWR laminated to Nike’s Therma-FIT sphere material inside layer. This technology insulates the garment and offers the highest level of protection, warmth and comfort available.
