Snowmageddon: Grete Eliassen and Keri Herman jib the District of Columbia
A month ago, an Atlantic storm blanketed our nation’s capital under a thick cover of snow. It was the most snow to ever fall in the District of Columbia – or anywhere in the nearby area, for that matter. The storm shut down traffic, business, and politics for days, and was dubbed “Snowmageddon” by President Obama for its disruptive power.
Grete Eliassen and Keri Herman followed Snowmageddon to DC for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jib this historic, and usually much less snowy, site and film for Grete’s upcoming two-year video project, “Say My Name.” Photographer Stan Evans followed, too, camera in well trained hand. Result: The Smithsonian of shred missions.
