Say My Name: SLC’s own all-girl ski film now on iTunes

Get your ski on early while watching history in the making. The all-girls ski movie, Say My Name, starring ground-breaking, champion skier Grete Eliasson is now available for download on iTunes. The film recently premiered in LA at Red Bull headquarters, winning Eliasson the Best Female Performance in ESPN’s Action Sports Best Pictures Awards, ESPN’s equivalent to the Oscars. The film was produced over a span of two years by local Salt Lake City directors Stan Evans and Jeremy Miller.

Eliasson went pro at 17, won the US Open four times, and is the only female skier to have medaled in both the first Halfpipe and Slopestyle X Games events. The list of awards and records goes on. She’s also known as much for her skiing as her humanitarianism-Eliasson gave her $25,000 winnings from Whistler’s Üllr Girl competition to charity. A great role model for anyone, she’s an especially important figure for girls entering the sport. There will be more on Eliasson from Salt Lake magazine soon, but for now, download the movie and watch full segments of rail slides, backcountry lines and pipes from this extraordinary star.
