Jill Kintner takes 1st at the Mountain Bike World Cup event

More than 20,000 spectators turned out for the Mountain Bike World Cup event near Fort William over the weekend, which involved more than 300 riders.

The competition, one in a series of 12, has been voted the best mountain bike event in the world three years running.

It was held at the Nevis range ski area and in the Leanachan Forest.

The men’s downhill went to last year’s winner, South African Greg Minaar, while Sabrina Jonnier from France took the women’s downhill title.

Britain’s Gee Atheron took 4th place in the men’s event.

The 4-Cross went to reigning champion, Australian Jared Graves, with Jill Kintner from America taking first place in the women’s.

Third place in the 4-Cross went to British team member Fionn Griffiths.
