Portraits of the Planet for Earth Day

Google+ and TIME teamed up to find beautiful pictures of the planet. TIME’s photo editors selected a handful to feature on the massive NASDAQ billboard in Times Square on Earth Day.

Instead of focusing on threats to the Earth, TIME shifted the focus on celebrating beauty on a global scale. Using photos tagged with #MyBeautifulEarth TIME editors built a stunning visual photo essay.
