Of course commuting to work can be a drag, especially if you’re stuck in traffic or dealing with an angry passenger. But it doesn’t have to be! All it takes to chill out is a little planning. Perhaps starting off with a little meditation or some yoga poses is all you need to maintain a state of zen throughout your day. Spritzing a little lavender on your scarf or wrist can bring you back to a state of tranquillity when things get tough on the road. One of our favorite tricks: positive music. A study found that listening to feel-good tunes on headphones can shrink your requirement for personal space-good news for commuters on packed trains!

Steal this yogi-approved playlist, curated by Kathryn Budig, author of Aim True: Love Your Body, Eat Without Fear, Nourish Your Spirit, Discover True Balance. While listening, take a minute to focus on your breath too-inhale positive vibes and exhale the negative, or repeat Budig’s mantra, “Aim true.”
