Giveaway: Gluten-Free Pure Bars

One of the ways I try to be both frugal and healthy is packing my lunch for work every day. Working as an ICU nurse, I need food that is both satisfying and can fuel my energy to get through my 12 hour shifts.

I recently discovered Pure Bars which make vegan and certified gluten-free bars and asked if I could do a review. I love snack bars for a quick energy boost, but let’s face it, many of them are either bland or loaded with processed sugar and fat.

Pure Bars sent me their whole range of products to review: Pure Naturals which includes Chocolate Almond, Peanut Raisin Crunch, and Superfruit Nutty Crunch, and Pure Organic, which includes Chocolate Brownie, Wild Blueberry, Cherry Cashew, Apple Cinnamon, and Cranberry Orange.

What sets Pure Bars apart from all the rest? I learned from their website that the organic line uses only certified organic ingredients and are between 82-92% raw. The Naturals bars use some organic ingredients and are all natural. Pure Bars have between 3-5 grams of fiber and 5-7 grams of protein.

So that’s all well and good, but healthy food is really only good in my book if I will actually eat and enjoy it. These bars were delicious! My favorites were the Chocolate Almond (no surprise there) and the Cherry Cashew. My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy who doesn’t appreciate the whole organic, healthy eating thing as much as I do, so he judged these purely on taste. I noticed that he tried one, then started taking them to work for his lunch too, so that’s a pretty big endorsement on how good these taste.

Buy It: Order online at http://shop.thepurebar.com/ or check out their store locator. Prices range from $15.99 to $21.99 for a 12 pack
